Description
The NCI-60 panel is the National Caner Institues’s collection of ~60 human cancerous cell lines, which has been widely used to develop and screen anticancer drugs. Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE) project was lauched by Novatis and the Broad Institue to cataloque the genetic and molecular profiles of nearly 1,000 cancer cell lines, which can be used in drug and cancer research. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) is a project supervised by the NCI and NHGRI to catalogue genetic mutations responsible for cancer using high-throughput genome sequencing and bioinformatics analyses, which plans to complete the genomic characterization and analysis of 20-25 tumor types by 2014.
